This Conference comes at a critical time in global health, as 2015 marks the end of the MDGs and the beginning of the post-2015 sustainable development agenda. The theme of the Conference this year: Reflection, Refocus and Renewal provides a unique opportunity to reflect on what we have done across the entire spectrum of our programmes in response to HIV, including the structural and social determinants which fuel this epidemic. What has worked, what lessons have we learned and how are we applying these to the new understanding we have gained over the years.
