Keeping parents and children alive
This thematic focus area centres on interventions and policies that work to help children and their parents live longer, better quality lives by: directing more resources at children’s health care; integrating nutritional awareness and support into treatment and support programmes; adopting a family centered approach, where the whole family, including men, are involved in interventions supporting the child; and improving research and evidence on modes of transmission in children beyond vertical transmission, (for example sexual abuse, caring for sick family members), and related prevention efforts.
