Worlds Cancer day is a international day founded by the Union for international Cancer Control (UICC) to raise awareness and encourage prevention, detection and treatment. Every year the world unites on World Cancer Day through events and online campaigns to with the aim of significantly reduce illness and deaths caused by cancer.

In order to reduce stigma, raise awareness and show your support for those fighting cancer you can join the movement by supporting #NoHairSelfi campaign on social media. 

• Currently, 8.2 million people die from cancer worldwide every year, out of which, 4 million people die prematurely (aged 30 to 69 years)

• World Cancer Day is the ideal opportunity to spread the word and raise the profile of cancer in people’s minds and in the world’s media.
