The International Day of Families is observed on the 15th of May every year. This day is a occasion to promote the awareness of the importance of the family unit and and improve the capability of countries to tackle family-related problems and support families with comprehensive programmes and policies.
"The family is profoundly important to the developmental, emotional and cognitive growth of a child," says Tamara Gold, a New York psychotherapist and parenting coach.
International Day of Families theme for 2017 is: “Families, education and well-being”
