World Vision Position Announcement- Technical Lead, OVC USIAD “Karabo ea Bophelo” Activity

World Vision is seeking a strong candidate for a Technical Lead, OVC position for the USAID “Karabo ea Bophelo” activity based in Lesotho. “Karabo ea Bophelo” is a five-year USAID-funded activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Lesotho.

Based in Lesotho, the Technical Lead OVC will be responsible for the technical oversight of the OVC components of the Activity, including work planning and reporting. S/he will oversee all OVC activities in collaboration with other technical leads. S/he will also guide the care and support provided to children and adolescents living with HIV enrolled in the project. S/he will report directly to the COP/CD and support the COP/CD in providing technical direction to project implementation and ensure that the OVC results are met. S/he will ensure strong linkages with all other project components.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in social sciences, social work, child development, education or related field.

  • At least 8 years of experience designing, implementing and managing OVC projects of similar scope and size (nation-wide); with experience in Lesotho and with PEPFAR and/or USAID is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs that address the needs of vulnerable children and adolescents, adolescents living with HIV, OVC caregiver support, economic strengthening, child protection, violence against children, case management, early childhood development, OVC policy and advocacy.

  • Demonstrated skills in project reporting, preferably for PEPFAR-funded OVC programs

  • Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for OVC.
