Mzantsi Wakho Roadmap for AIDS 2018

Mzantsi Wakho is part of the Young Carers South Africa research group, based at the Universities of Oxford and Cape Town. The research group conducts quantitative and qualitative research to generate evidence that informs social policy and intervention design on the best ways to care for and support young people and families living in AIDS-affected communities in South Africa.

Although HIV should now be a manageable condition, fewer than half of the children needing treatment are receiving it. This session—chaired by Lucie Cluver—will demonstrate the missed chances for HIV prevention and the opportunities for improving AIDS-free survival among children and adolescents across their lifetime.
