RIATT-ESA and all its members welcome the Global Alliance because it is widely recognized that the global HIV response is failing to meet the needs of children
Beyond the ratifications of international and regional child rights instruments, as well as promulgation of impeccable laws, realization of children’s rights will not be actualized until adequate public resources are availed.
RIATT-ESA is working on behalf of children and adolescents and their families, to encourage national governments as well as national, regional and international stakeholders to pursue the objectives of the Start Free, Stay Free, AIDS Free framework.
This report, On the Fast-Track to end the AIDS epidemic, shows that the progress made over the past 15 years could be lost and urges all partners to concentrate their efforts to increase investments to ensure that the global AIDS epidemic is ended as a public health threat by 2030.
"AIDS activism and civil society remain crucial for the AIDS response. A growing body of scientific research shows that community empowerment and advocacy programmes can lead to reduced HIV incidence among vulnerable populations."
